Baby Helmet Graduation

The Beginning of Yang Yang Helmet Journey

It all started when the parent noticed that the baby’s head seemed to have an irregular shape and decided to came to our center to get their child's first flathead assessment. At that time, Yang Yang was just 5 months old.

A 3D scanning was done and he was diagnosed with moderate Brachycephaly (flathead syndrome).

Adjusting to the Helmet

"When the helmet arrived, it was an emotional moment for both of us. Worries and concerns if he able to wear the helmet for 23 hours daily. The helmet was made of a lightweight material, but it still felt like an enormous change to our daily routine. For the first few days, our baby was understandably fussy and seemed to be adjusting to this new “thing” on their head. But as the days went on, we began to see signs of adaptation. The helmet became a part of our routine, and we learned how to manage it with baths, naps, and playtime." - Amily (mother)

The Progress We Saw

As the months passed, we began to see a noticeable improvement in the shape of Yang Yang’s head. The helmet was doing its job, and the progress was reassuring. We could see our baby becoming more comfortable with the helmet, too.

There were small moments of triumph—when our baby started to smile more when they began playing with their favorite toys without feeling restricted.

Graduation Day: The Helmet Comes Off

The day Yang Yang graduated from the helmet was one of pure joy after 4.5 months treatment. There was a sense of relief by parent, yes, but there was also a huge feeling of pride that they had completed the journey, and his head had shaped beautifully.

"We have made the right decision to do the helmet treatment for Yang Yang"
